A wood furnace is a different animal from a wood stove. Instead of radiating heat into the room it stands in, it connects to your existing ductwork and pushes heated air through the registers you already have — so one fire heats the whole house rather than one room.
That makes a furnace the practical choice when you want wood to be your primary heat source, or when you want to run it alongside a gas or oil unit to cut fuel bills through the coldest months. Most models here include the blower and tie into a standard plenum.
Worth knowing when you compare them: manufacturers do not quote BTU the same way. Some publish maximum input, others publish nominal or delivered output, and the two can differ by a factor of three or more on the same appliance. Compare firebox volume, efficiency and delivered output rather than the headline number, and call us if you want help sizing one.
