I think it’s a good little stove

It seems to have great potential

Needs more “spark"

The new stove is easy to operate, but we are having difficulty keeping a good draw using the damper only, and so have had to keep the door open a crack even when the fire is established. But we are reserving judgement and “making it work”. Once it gets really cold and we fill the stove fully I think we won’t have this problem. Otherwise the stove is just the right size and looks great!

Stove clearly took a fall onto its head during shipping, door off its hinges, fire bricks and vermiculite baffles broken, paint scuffed up pretty good, missing hardware and a handle... Fyre Direct got it sorted out for me with replacement parts and some paint relatively quickly. Stove is well built, although packing could be better with todays shipping companies that dont give a ****.

have only had one fire in it to start the paint curing process. burned 4 sticks of hardwood, last piece went into the stove at 6pm and at 5am i couldnt touch the stove as it was too hot! impressive heat retention; once you get it warmed up, which takes a while. shouldnt be an issue once its rolling steady thru the winter months.

purchased the blower and thermodisk with the stove, they worked well and came on automatically, as intended, once the stove was up to temp.

only thing i would change is to design the air intake for a little better breathing when you want a good hot fire going.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Is this stove an air tight?

    Hello,

Yes, this stove is airtight. The air control is located underneath the ash shelf.
To open the air control, push the air control handle completely to the left (High). This will increase the burn rate.
To close the air control, push the air control handle completely to the right (Low). This will decrease the burn rate.

More information on air control can be found on Page 10 of the Installation Manual

    Thank you,
    Melissa

  • I only need 22,000 btu do you have one that size?

    Hello,

the smallest one we have is the Drolet Hunter and it is a recreational stove.

As it is rated for use outdoors only, the manufacturer does not provide any BTU ratings for this appliance.

For indoor use the smallest ones we carry are the Deco Nano, Spark II, Fox, or Escape 1200.

    Thank you,
    Melissa

  • Does the Drolet spark 11 wood stove have a rear flue option, and if so, how high off the floor would the midpoint of the rear flue portal be?

No, the only option is at the top as on most Drolet Wood Stoves except for the Cape Town.

  • Where are these stoves made!

Canada yet we have them in stock in the USA.

  • Where are they made? Where are they shipped from?

They are made in Canada and we have them in the USA in stock right now.

We will ship this brand from Indiana.

  • How long are the legs?

    Hi,
The legs are almost 10 inch high.
I hope this helps. Thank you.

  • Will that stove heat 1800 sq.ft.

No. Rule of thumb says the firebox will heat approx 300square feet less than is listed.
