On an existing roof, center and install the flashing first, leaving room to slide the next chimney section up through it.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eFasten:\u003c\/strong\u003e Nail the flashing to the roof on all sides and seal it on all sides with roofing compound.
