Depending on your roof pitch and how far the chimney exits from the ridge, that is usually 3 to 7 ft, and up to 12 ft on very steep roofs. The chart in the photos gives the number for your roof. A through-the-wall chimney exits at the eave, the point farthest from the ridge, so it nearly always stands more than 5 ft above its last support. Every kit includes the DuraTech Extended Roof Bracket (6DT-XRS), which DuraVent requires in that case. DuraVent calls for a bracket every 5 ft above the roof, so roofs steeper than about 9/12 may need a second one; contact us.

Check your stove manual for its minimum total chimney height and stove pipe clearances.

Install to DuraVent's instructions and your local building code; a permit and inspection may be required.

Resources

DuraTech 5"-8" Catalog

DuraTech Installation Instructions

DuraTech Product Brochure

6 ft / Through overhang, 0/12 -
